Life:
In the big picture things are going very well. I have a job for next semester, a class and work schedule I am quite happy with, and enough financial aid to cover a good chunk of my tuition. The financial aid was a surprise- I got denied a federal loan a few months ago and spent a lot of time since freaking out about private loans with ridiculous interest rates, then Temple last week Temple sends me an email about a different federal loan I was awarded. I don't really understand the government and how they give out their precious money, but it was a huge relief.

So long term things are good. Immediate life is mostly annoying. It's just me, Julia, and Lisa in the house this week and they have their friends over constantly, which doesn't mesh well with my semi-antisocial self. And for some reason everyone is constantly giggling. I swear, it's all I hear whenever they're over. I think one of Julia's friends has been here 24/7 since Saturday; he hangs out in the basement when she's at work. He bought ice cream, though, and was a lot of fun to watch Dawn of the Dead with.

Other things:
One of the first thing I'll need to buy once I have money again is a case for my laptop. I used it in public for the first time last week, so I'm not exactly using it to it's full potential. Bringing it to the library in my backpack was fine, but I don't want to take it on the subway in just a backpack to use it at school. A real carrying case, then.

I think Clive Barker is my favorite celebrity Twitter user (Twitterer? Tweeter?). I learned from his Twitter that he named the character Lyle in Candyman after one of his favorite candies. Which adds a weird extra dimension to it all. I keep wanting to talk about him to my dad, who's a big fan, but I feel weird talking about internet stuff like that with my dad.

I made an earring holder! I saw something similar on Etsy and decided to try to make my own. It's a thrift store picture frame and some stuff from the craft store. The background is one of those fancy sheets of scrapbooking paper.

All my earrings were tangled in a box before this, and maybe I'll wear them more often now that I can actually see them. The studs and stuff are still in the box, though.

you should probably get a laptop sleeve instead of a case...I hear they protect them better, then you could just put the sleeve in your backpack or something. lol

yay for financial aid! yea I don't know how the gov't works either...I hate systems in general lol

the earring holder is cute!

Oh, I didn't know there were different types like that. I must research. But yeah, as long as it has more protection in my backpack it'll be cool.
