There are a lot of little things that have been bothering me lately.
Like the fact that I bought all these books for one class, but we only spend one day talking about each book. I could have gotten them from the library or gotten by on Cliff Notes if I'd known we were using them so little.
And these other books I ordered online a week ago. for another class (where I know I'll have to read them thoroughly) haven't arrived yet, even though they're supposedly being shipped from New Jersey. If they don't arrive soon I'll have to start working on getting my money back and I don't know if I have the energy for that.
My Japanese teacher likes to start class five minutes early so I feel like I'm walking into class late even though technically I'm not. Because of the bus/subway schedule, getting to class earlier would mean waking up half an hour earlier.
There was a block party yesterday on my street and it sucked. It was aimed mostly at kids, with a moon bounce and an inflatable waterslide, but nothing much for anyone else. Mom and Julia got roped into doing face painting. One lady kept kicking out kids if they didn't live on the block, which I think was lame. The only food there was pretzels and water ice and you had to have wrist band to get either. And that was pretty much it. I stayed inside most of the time. I don't want to get to know my neighbors. The few times I went out they were annoying. I'm fine being a hermit.
Good news: I'm getting more comfortable with Japanese and the idea of living in Japan isn't quite as terrifying. Now to get the money for a semester there.
