Feb. 23rd, 2011 10:30 pmBehold, the nacho state:

From The United Plates of America
And I've been called to serve this delicious state in jury duty. It's been freaking me for days now, having never served on a jury before, but now they're changing the dates around and it's annoying. I was supposed to go tomorrow, but today I called the 1-800 number they gave me and got a message saying that they're switching it to Friday. I'd warned my boss that I might have to go back Friday because I have no idea what's going to come of this, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to miss work, and now it looks like I will.
The thought of serving on a jury is scary :( Today my coworker told me about her mom's first jury experience: it was a rape case and she was the only woman on the jury. Everyone else wanted to acquit the accused rapist because the victim had "questionable morals" and therefore must have made up the charges. That right there is pretty much my nightmare scenario for serving on a jury. I'd blow a fuse over the frustration of trying to argue against bullshit like that. I know there's a small chance this trial is anything so dramatic, or even that I'll be selected, but still. Do not want.
