The Justice League, here to save the day!
Apr. 8th, 2006 09:58 pmMy mom's home from the hospital and I'm back at her house from my dad's (there's internet here! yay!). My mom can walk around, but she can't move too much without it starting to hurt. The doctor says she's under house arrest for a while. I'll be driving Lisa and Julia places and she'll probably have to give me her debit card for food shopping and stuff. But I get to drive the car to school for a while. :)
Speaking of driving, there was a little...incident...when I was picking up Lisa from practice last week. I was driving on 69th street which has 2 lanes of traffic plus a turn lane. I was driving in the turn lane and there was an SUV trying to get though the gap in the 2 lanes of traffic. I didn't see the SUV until I it started coming into my lane right in from of me. I tried to swerve and I thought it would stop but it didn't and hit the side of my minivan. Both cars were going slowly so it wasn't really bad it was just loud and scary. The SUV pulled into a parking lot but I couldn't get off the road until the traffic light turned green. By the time the light changed the SUV had left, so I just went on my merry way. Lisa and I looked at the car at a gas station. There's a dent on the side and some scratches. It's not really that bad... When I told my parents they were mostly glad it wasn't worse, but my dad said it was techincally a hit-and-run because the other guy hit my car and left before he talked to me. Whatever. It doesn't seem bad enough to get insurance involoved and I'd rather keep it that way. My mom was worried because she just took me off her insurance as a casual driver because it was insanely expensive to have a teenager on the insurace. I don't know if that really would cause a problem though because the car its self is insured, so who cars who's driving it? But that stuff confuses me and either way I'll still be driving the car.
Florent is staying with a family in Strathaven. Julia's disappointed but she'll get to meet him when the group of French kids tour UDHS.
