Good times at the Comic Con
I had a fabulous day yesterday with
doctor_anon at Philadelphia Comic-Com! Long entry ahead with lots of pictures.

These are just general shots of what was going on. Might be boring for those who've done cons before, but it's the first one I've been to and everything was very exciting and required pictures.
Wall o' comics pictured above. There were many booths like this with boxes and boxes of paper comics for sale. There were a few places selling graphic novels and bound collections for cheap. I bought four graphic novels:

Half Dead; Lock & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft (by Joe Hill, Stephen King's son); Hellboy: Darkness Calls; and The Great and Secret Show. So a bunch of horror! One of these'll be going to my dad for his birthday, just need to pick which one. Only problem with buying these was that I did it right at beginning and had to lug them around the rest of the day. These things get heavy!

Part of artist alley.

A booth that sold Victorian/steampunk accessories & gadgets. There were some bitchin' goggles and jewelry that was all sadly out of my price range.

And this thing, which appears to be a mechanical spider.

One of several booths selling costume (I'm assuming) weapons.
Costumes were a big thing I was looking forward to, and there were plenty to see. Green Lanterns were popular (and Green Lantern t-shirts; lots of people wearing them) as were all the Batman villans. There were several people in the brown Dharma jumpsuits from Lost! Lots of kids dressed up too, all of them adorable (omg 5-year-old Wonder Woman so cute). Some of the cosplays I liked but didn't get pictures of: Coraline, Lady Gaga, Princess Yue, Mario & Luigi (two kids, and twins, it looked like), the Powerpuff Girls, Fry & Leela, and plenty of others I can't remember right now.

Predator attacking an old timey Captain America.

Unidentified cat-man-thing.

Rorschach with mini-Rorschach! He was right by the doors with a FREE HUGS sign (I did not partake, though plenty of others did).

This guy was on stilts so he actually was 9 feet tall. He was really funny the way he played up the character.

A shot from the costume contest - Pikachu and assorted cosplayers in the background. There were some great costumes in the contest, but sadly the contestants were on the regular floor, not a stage (they had the judges on the stage instead, which seems pretty backwards) so photo ops were scarce.

Two fellas I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. The Comedian looked great - the end of his cigar even lit up!

And someone I wouldn't mind meeting in dark alley! His panel was rescheduled, but he was still doing signings. Which I didn't expect, so getting to see him was huge for me. Sorry about the blurry pics; I was taking them through a crowd. Afterwards I had a flaily moment of "Eeeeeee, I saw Patrick Stewart!".

And two other Star Trek TNG actors at a panel: John DeLancie and Brent Spiner!

Both of their talks were great.
James Marsters from Buffy was also there, looking very good :D Didn't manage any pics though.
Action figures were a big sale item and I was hoping to get a Nite Owl II. But he was nowhere to be found! There were a handful of places with Watchmen figures but none had Nite Owl II :( Lots of the Comedian. Apparently no one wants to buy him. I was disappointed at the lack of Nite Owl, but ended up buying a maskless-Rorschach figure. And of course I had to take him out of the box right away.

Rorschach defends what he loves. The Sweet Chariot Sugar was a present from
doctor_anon! <3 <3
A long day, but very worth it. A great time :)

Love the "Brent slowly rotating" picture :) And the Comedian and Joker photo has an awesome effect with the blurry, streaming people in the background.
Good times. It's such a long wait till next year.
