One month until the semster's over.
Apr. 16th, 2008 10:20 pmNot much going on here with me. Work, school, and not much else. And stressing out over some stuff.
Okay, one big thing happened. My Pop-pop died last week and the funeral was this past Saturday. The funeral ceremony at St. Philomena's was nice, though I haven't been to a Catholic mass since high school and it was a bit strange to experience one again. My dad was came too and it was the first time he's been at a gathering with my mom's family since they got divorced, but everyone still gets along really well which makes me very happy. The cemetery was about an hour's drive away. There was the traditional procession to cemetery where the cars involved are allowed to run red lights, but boy it that a bad idea most of the time. My dad was driving (Mom was riding in a limo) and he was ready to pop a blood vessel he was so stressed out. We were almost hit a few times and it felt like we were going to get hit any second when we were in an intersection. But we reached our destination in one piece. At the reception I learned a lot of stuff I didn't know about my ancestors on that side of the family. My Pop-pop's mother was born in Bavaria (I'm 1/8 Bavarian! expect that Bavaria hasn't existed for a while). It's weird to think that my younger cousins won't even remember our Pop-pop. He's the first of my grandparent's to die, and I'm grateful that I was able to grow up with all four grandparents around.
I went to O'Hara to get my transcript. The front doors are always locker and you have to ring a buzzer and talk through an intercom to get someone to open it. I saw Sr. Lucy and Mr & Mrs Allen but didn't say hi to them.
Stressing out over little things-I still haven't decided who to vote for in the primaries next week. I've used ontheissues.org to research Clinton and Obama but their policies and positions seem so similar. It doesn't help that I don't understand most of the terminology about the economy and health care and taxes. The site has a quiz to match you up with a candidate, which is pretty funny. I bet Quizilla has a ton of quizzes like that too. My political problems are solved!
