Every other post I make here is about some kind of animal someone has brought home, and here's another one. A kitten. A cute grey tabby. Julia found it in a cemetery (the same cemetery where she found those 3 kittens we had a few years ago). It's skinny and has fleas and who knows what other feral diseases so it has to be kept away from our cats until we can get it to the vet. My dad is considering keeping it if Stripes will tolerate it. He thinks Stripes needs a playmate.

I was pretty annoyed when I found out about Julia and the kitten. We can't take in every homeless pet we run across...And now this one needs to go to the vet, which might cost quite a bit. The main thing is it's so hard to find kittens homes. We don't want to give them to the SPCA because there's the possibility they'll be put down, but most other shelters are full. It's hard to find people who want to keep a cat, and we can't keep them (though it looks like people are trying). I love kittens but...there's too many of them!

But this kitten is adorable. It is sooooo affectionate, even to complete strangers. It purrs and snuggles and climbs on people. I have off next Saturday so if anyone wants to hang with a kitten (or do anything else), let me know.

ETA:We gave the kitten a flea bath and got the cutest distressed-wet-cat pictures. I'll post them later.
